A stroll through the gardens, cocktails on the patio, flowers delivered to your table from our own flower market and the very best food made from fresh quality ingredients—special occasions begin at Anthony’s.Since 1949 my family has strived to make our guests feel at home. It began when my grandfather, Augustine Garcia, and my parents, Manuel and Marie, purchased this property and we built the Delta Bar. I’m sure you are wondering how we came up with the name “Delta!” The original building was built parallel to the highway, and an unusual triangular-shaped building resulted. My grandfather recognized the shape as the Greek delta sign, and so the Delta Bar was christened. Since then the bar has been added on to in every direction. The delta shape has vanished externally although remnants of it can still be seen. The present restaurant building developed from the remodeling of my family’s home and some apartments my Uncle Joe Roybal built in 1949.My parents worked hard to make this neighborhood bar successful, and were able to send all six of us to college. We were raised with the familiar sounds of clinking glasses and friendly conversations.
